Busy Week

It always seems to be busy the week of the Quilt and Craft show at Darling Harbour. Heaps of people come in to the store because they have seen machines at the show that they just love and want to see more. We are going tomorrow (Saturday) taking a bus load of ladies with us.

I have finished another bag this week. This one by Moonshine Designs. There are 2 designs in the pattern, this is just one. It is done with the Krinkle Magic. This is what it looked like before it had shrunk. About a fat quarter size of fabric and I cross hatched the fabric about a half inch apart.
After I steamed it with the iron it shrunk in about 1 minute. It was so quick. I love it, BUT is isn't cheap. One packet which is about a 1 meter piece sells for about $44.00, in saying that I only used homespun so what I saved on fabric I spent on Krinkle Magic.
I also LOVE the flower and the side where the handles go. I will do the next bag next week so keep an eye at for that one. It has a bigger flower so that will be fun... LOL..... Anyone that wants to do this Bag ,just let me know so I can start on kits. It will be later in next Term.
Today we had a software lesson on Embird. It was great and BIG thank you to Lesley for teaching us. We had a great day and before we knew it, it was 4.30. Boy the day went quick. We probably could of sat there all night, but we wouldn't want to go to the show in the morning and we are looking forward to that.Thursday night was the monthly Guild meeting. It was only a few of us that braved the cold weather but we got alot done. This year our charity is sewing up pillows and bags for the hospitals for there Breast Cancer patients. We actually finished a hole bag. YAH.

Only 1 week left until school Holidays and classes will finish for 2 weeks.(not saturdays and monday night, they will remain the same)

Till next time

Finished Bag and Quilt

I have started to finish some of our projects for Term 3

One is this Sleepover Bag from

"Melly & Me". I have wanted to do this one for a while, and I finally finished it. I am going to do it in another colour as well. August is the plan to do this Bag, as July is busy with School Holidays. Also, "Fancy Free" from "Moonshine Designs" love this one. What a quick quilt. Some of the girls have actually started this one. I do have kits available for your chosen size. I did a small one as I have so many quilts in the shop now, it's hard to fit them all in.
For those of you who are coming with us to the Darling Harbour Craft and Quilt show on Saturday, don't forget we are meeting at the back of the shop at 7.30. I am looking forward to going with such a lovely bunch of ladies.
Unfortunately I will have to be good and behave myself as my husband is driving the bus and my 2 boys are coming.(ha,ha) No, they know what I'm like.(lucky)
Till next time
Happy Sewing

New Sewing Containers

Over the last couple of weeks I have been getting in some New Sewing Boxes. Some for projects, some for my fat quarters and some for my bits and pieces. They are deeper than the last one's we had and they are just great. They come in a couple of colours also.
They come out at the sides too.
With two layers of storage.
I had two sewing boxes and now they fit into just one of these.
June classes are well under way ,with Bag of the month nearly finished in very class. Computer classes have been sorted out for the end of the month, And the Darling Harbour show is just around the corner, Can't wait. I have been doing lots of new projects so keep an eye out.
Ally also had a beautiful Baby Boy last Monday 30th May. Congrats to her and her family and we can't wait to see him (and Ally of course)
Till next time, Happy Sewing

LOVE the new Bias Maker

LOVE..... LOVE......LOVE the new Bias Maker. Well it isn't that new anymore, but it has been the one Gadget that I have brought and used all the time. Well worth it's money. We do sell them in our store and all the attachments.

Just cut your fabric the size you need and it goes in one side and comes out the other all turned ,pressed and ready to sew. It really is that easy.

Till next time
