Can Can Scarf

A couple of weeks ago when I went to the Sydney Quilt Show, one of my friends that came with me ,Deb brought some Can Can Yarn to make one those those New Scarfs that I had seen around. Well ,she started it on the bus while we were on our way home and I couldn't wait to get some and start my own. I have never knitted before, so Gail started me off and the rest is history. I have done a fuchsia one and just last night started a black & Charcoal one. I am addicted.

I have now found a supplier and going to sell it in the shop.
It's called Can Can Yarn. There are a couple of different brands and Qualities of the Yarn.

There is about 12 to 15 colours to pick from. I'll just start with the colours that the girls in class like. I have 7 already. ( LOL ) One ball makes 2. (depending on how you knit)

Looking forward to all out ladies coming back to classes next week. Monday 18th July Classes will start for Term 3. Don't Forget Monday and Tuesday we have Pattern Making Day on and it is FREE to attend.

Anyway till next time

Sunday Sewing Day

It's not very often that I am home long enough to sew a hole quilt, BUT today I didn't have to go anywhere. First Sunday in ages. Boy's didn't have to be anywhere, I had already done the shopping (yesterday after work) , All washing is done(thank god for dyers) and dinner was cooked in the slow cooker. And it was a beautiful day, I got to open the house up and give it a good air out. I don't think the house or our dog knew what was happening.

And look what I sewn up. A jelly roll "Amelia" by me and my sister ,Moda. My good Friend Ally gave it to me the other day and I just couldn't wait to sew it up. I all ready had the pattern which was also by "Me and My Sister". Sorry ,not a great photo. I took in on my I Phone.(the good camera is at the shop)

No I didn't design it myself. I admit, I'm not really into designing Quilts(I don't really have the time) BUT I LOVE getting patterns and trying them out. If I like them and they are easy to understand I'll sell them in my shop and do them as a workshop. Quilts, Bags or Kids Clothes.

My Boy's are now on school holidays so I won't be in the shop as much over the next 2 weeks. Mum is back too. She will be working in the shop. Only Monday nights and Saturday classes will be on over the school holidays. All classes will commence back on Monday 18th Of July.

Anyway, Till next time

Happy Sewing

Busy Week

It always seems to be busy the week of the Quilt and Craft show at Darling Harbour. Heaps of people come in to the store because they have seen machines at the show that they just love and want to see more. We are going tomorrow (Saturday) taking a bus load of ladies with us.

I have finished another bag this week. This one by Moonshine Designs. There are 2 designs in the pattern, this is just one. It is done with the Krinkle Magic. This is what it looked like before it had shrunk. About a fat quarter size of fabric and I cross hatched the fabric about a half inch apart.
After I steamed it with the iron it shrunk in about 1 minute. It was so quick. I love it, BUT is isn't cheap. One packet which is about a 1 meter piece sells for about $44.00, in saying that I only used homespun so what I saved on fabric I spent on Krinkle Magic.
I also LOVE the flower and the side where the handles go. I will do the next bag next week so keep an eye at for that one. It has a bigger flower so that will be fun... LOL..... Anyone that wants to do this Bag ,just let me know so I can start on kits. It will be later in next Term.
Today we had a software lesson on Embird. It was great and BIG thank you to Lesley for teaching us. We had a great day and before we knew it, it was 4.30. Boy the day went quick. We probably could of sat there all night, but we wouldn't want to go to the show in the morning and we are looking forward to that.Thursday night was the monthly Guild meeting. It was only a few of us that braved the cold weather but we got alot done. This year our charity is sewing up pillows and bags for the hospitals for there Breast Cancer patients. We actually finished a hole bag. YAH.

Only 1 week left until school Holidays and classes will finish for 2 weeks.(not saturdays and monday night, they will remain the same)

Till next time
